Restoring Dental Implants - A Practical Course for Beginnners

This course is aimed at dentists who would like to learn how to restore dental implants so that they can introduce this treatment at their own practices. The 3 day course focuses on the restorative aspects of dental implant treatment allowing dentists to competently restore single unit and small multi-unit implant prostheses.

This is an ideal starting point for dentists wishing to get more involved in implant training and for those who already have good links with an implant surgeon. The course qualifies as 22 hours of verifiable CPD

 

Aims and Objectives

  • Understand the prosthetically driven planning protocols for implant restorations
  • Gain first hand experience of relevant laboratory stages involved in a dedicated on-site laboratory
  • Develop an understanding of implant componentry
  • Gain an appreciation of occlusion related to dental implant restorations
  • Competently restore single/small multiple unit screw/cement retained restorations from planning to final fit

  • Gain an understanding of diagnostic imaging techniques
  • Appreciate the importance of accurate radiographic guides
  • Learn the ideal 3-dimentional positioning of dental implants
  • Practice implant placement on models for use later in restorative exercises

  • Fabricate a ‘lab-made’ provisional from a full contour wax up
