Orthodontic Practice
Dirk Bister has established his orthodontic practice at Devonshire House in Cambridge.
He is keen to accept referrals of adults and children, either from colleagues or as self-referrals by the patients themselves. He is able to offer a complete orthodontic referral service for private patients wanting a simple opinion, a second opinion or a full treatment.
Convenient Appointments Dr Bister runs clinics on Saturdays and Weekdays. Once treatment is underway he can arrange early or late appointments during the week for patient's convenience.
"Aesthetic Braces" Tooth-coloured appliances are popular with adults and children. "Invisible" lingual appliances can make treatment more acceptable to adults in particular. Exciting coloured brackets and bands make modern fixed orthodontics more appealing to teenagers.
Reduced Treatment Times Minimising the duration of any orthodontic plan is usually very popular with all orthodontic patients. With the on-site support of two Dental Technicians and a Dental Health Educator, time wasted on repairs and oral hygiene complications is minimised. Many adult cases are finished with "permanent" resin-retained invisible retainers. Treatment finishes immediately the teeth are accurately positioned.
Co-ordinated Treatments Dr Bister is experienced at working with orthodontic patients who also require the attentions of other dental specialists. Periodontic, Endodontic and Prosthodontic specialists are available within the practice and cases requiring Maxillofacial Surgery would be managed locally.
Commitment to Referring Colleagues Dr
Bister is keen that you should remain in overall charge of the routine
management of your referral case and will emphasise to each patient
that they should attend their routine hygiene and examination visits
with their referring dentist. He will keep you fully informed of
treatment proposals and progress. He will always seek your approval
before involving other Dental Specialists.
The life-enhancing benefit of modern orthodontic treatment is worth finding out about.
Dirk Bister's patients need only commit themselves to this initial consultation during which they will be able to discuss their treatment with him. Each initial consultation will include:
Clinical examination.
Initial diagnosis and discussion of orthodontic problems.
A guide to treatment options.
A guide to the likely timetable of treatment.
An introduction to the commitment involved.
An explanation of the costs involved.
A description of the continuing role of the patient's own dentist.
This simple introduction allows you to receive
a diagnosis and opinion from Dr Bister without feeling you are committing
yourself to an unknown costly treatment. You will be able to discuss
the details you need to know allowing you to make fully informed
decisions about child's, or your own, treatment.
